In June 2017, a delegation of eight foodtech companies from Israel visited the United States for a roadshow in Cincinnati and New York. The delegation was organized by The Kitchen, Strauss’s Foodtech innovation hub in Israel. The Strauss Group is Israel’s largest producer of food and beverages.
On June 6, the delegation landed in NYC, where Kitchen CEO Jonathan Berger headlined a meetup with the Israel Business Forum. On June 7-8, the delegation attended the Future Foodtech Conference. FutureFood is an annual symposium that draws some of the most important innovators, thought-leaders, entrepreneurs and brands to New York to discuss technology and best practices in food production, marketing and consumption. Over the next two days, The Kitchen and the companies networked and met with investors and brands about their innovations and products.
On the evening of June 8, following the close of FutureFood, the Israel Economic Mission in NYC organized a networking meetup for the delegation hosted by Goodwin on Manhattan’s West Side. The crowd, which consisted of brands and investors, enjoyed a briefing by The Kitchen’s Jonathan Berger on Israel’s foodtech scene, as well as pitches from the eight visiting companies. Finally, many of the companies enjoyed direct B2B meetings with investors.
