Israel’s open innovation ecosystem praised once again

A delegation from the Inter-American Development Bank visited last month in Israel. Led by the Chief Scientist of the Bank, the delegation which comprised of the represntatives of the Technology and Innovation Division met with Israeli companies and government officials.

Cristina Pombo from the Office of External Relations at the Inter-American Development Bank published a review called: “WHAT CAN LATIN AMERICA LEARN FROM THE ISRAELI OPEN INNOVATION ECOSYSTEM?”

The post emphasizes four main decisions that helped Israel launch its ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation, and that could also support Latin America in becoming a more innovative and developed region. This decision included:

1. Involving the private sector when developing an innovation program
2. Increasing investment in research and development
3. Betting on the internationalization of the economy
4. Supporting projects that come from Universities
