New EU Ecolabel criteria for cosmetics and animal-care products

In October 2021, the European Commission adopted new EU Ecolabel criteria for cosmetics and animal-care products. The EU Ecolabel is the EU’s label for environmental excellence for products and services meeting high environmental standards. Thanks to this update (i.e. Commission Decision 2021/1870), EU Ecolabel criteria will now apply also to “leave-on cosmetics”, as well as rinse-off animal-care products.
