Close to 600 million people in Africa live without access to electricity, Sub-Saharan Africa’s share of the global population without access is over 75%. In Ghana there are still roughly 5 million people that live in the dark or use dangerous, polluting, and inefficient means to light their homes such as generators, kerosene, or flashlights.

Newer and ever-improving power technologies are creating an exciting leapfrog opportunity to increase remote access to power with clean, affordable, and scalable off-grid or mini-grid solutions.

Access to electricity has a significant ripple effect improving economic productivity, healthcare quality, education, connectivity, and security.

The Israeli cleantech industry has been known worldwide as a vibrant source of new ideas and creatively effective solutions aimed at solving these issues.
New Israeli startups are created almost on a daily basis in fields like renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy delivery, and storage.

This Webinar, a collaboration of the Israeli Trade Missions in Kenya and Ghana and the Israel Export Institute aims to explore some of the challenges in powering remote off-grid populations in SSA, as well as to present some exciting technologies as potential solutions.

The registration form for the event can be found here.

Participation is free, the event link will be sent after registration and upon confirmation of attendance.
