What do critically acclaimed shows such as Homeland, Fauda, and In Treatment, have in common? All were created in Israel, and all are gaining more and more diehard fans worldwide. In fact, Israel has been gaining a reputation internationally as a hotbed for great new TV series, and for its compelling, deeply engrossing TV formats. This growing global popularity has fueled rapid growth of international TV and film sales from Israel, which reached $268 million in 2016. Indeed, the Israeli TV industry has sold more than 200 formats worldwide, exported to more than 80 countries.

Eleven Israeli companies from Israel’s booming TV formats sector are now slated to broadcast their success at MIPTV in Cannes, France from April 9-12 — one of the world’s leading conferences on the global TV and digital content market – which is expected to host some 10,500 entertainment industry leaders.

The influencers and industry executives flocking to the Palais des Festivals in Cannes for MIPTV will get a chance to meet some of Israel’s innovative, market-leading distributors including:

  • Cinephil, a Tel Aviv-based sales and advisory firm that has secured numerous global distribution, broadcasting, and financing deals, for acclaimed documentaries including The Cleaners, an official 2018 Sundance selection, and Koch, on the life and times of New York City Mayor Ed Koch.
  • Keshet, an industry powerhouse that has distributed popular programs including Dig, Homeland, and Tyrant, with shows screening on almost every continent.
  • Armoza Formats, a developer and distributor with more than 90 formats and leading partners including NBC, BBC, Channel 4, HBO, TF1 France, RTL Germany, Globo Brazil, and Azteca Mexico.

With distributors delivering content beloved by audiences worldwide – and at highly competitive costs  – Israel’s TV shows are set to gain growing audiences worldwide.
