Israeli Greenbo, which creates unique products for growing plants in an urban environment, has won the Red Dot Design award for 2012, as reported in NoCamels.

Greenbo‘s patent design allows it to be placed over any shape or form of railings without the need for special adjustments or effort.

According to NoCamels, the Red Dot design award dates back to 1955 and is currently one of the world’s largest design competitions. More than 14,000 participants from over 70 countries entered the competition this year. Thirty international experts examined, tested and evaluated each of the products competing. They applied different criteria such as the level of innovation, functionality, self-explanatory quality and environmental compatibility.

According to the Greenbo press release, after an evaluation process lasting several days, the Company received one of the coveted awards, assigned by a 30-member expert jury. Greenbo XL Designer Rail & Deck Window box received the globally sought-after red dot for its fine design language in the home & garden product design category.
