Israeli and Karnataka-based companies engaged in collaborative R&D projects are invited to apply for financial support through the Karnataka-Israel Industrial R&D Program (KIRD)

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME:

RECALLING the Umbrella Agreement on the Development of Cooperation in the Field of Industrial and Technological Research and Development between the State of Israel and the Republic of India, signed in New Delhi, on December 30, 1996, the Government of Karnataka executed an MOU with Israel to carry out joint industrial R&D projects between Karnataka-based companies and Israel.

MATIMOP, on behalf of the Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) in Israel, together with the Karnataka Science and Technology Promotion Society (KSTePS) and the Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology (KSCST), autonomous organizations under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, in India, invite Israeli companies and Karnataka-based companies to submit joint proposals for industrial Research and Development projects under the 1st KIRD Call for Proposals, launched on June 17, 2013.

The Karnataka-Israel Industrial R&D Program (KIRD) provides partner matching assistance and access to funding for Israeli companies and Indian companies based in Karnataka. Phase I Application – the Bilateral Cooperation Form (BAF) – is due no later than September 17, 2013.

The following areas would be given priority for the current Call for Proposals:

–       Nanotechnology and its applications

–       Technology for Water & Waste Water Management – in Urban and Rural Areas

–       Technologies to Harness Solar Energy

–       Biotechnology & its applications

–       Aero and Space technology

PARTNER MATCHING ASSISTANCE:

In addition to access to funding, KIRD is offering Israeli and Karnataka-based companies assistance in identifying potential partners for R&D projects under the current call for proposals.
