Promotion of Indo-Israel Cooperation in Health care and Diagnostic segment
Gearing up for Med In Israel 2015 being held during 23-26 March 2015 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
The health care and diagnostic segment in India is growing rapidly, creating a major potential market for importing medical equipment and medical devices in India. The medical technology sector is highly under-penetrated, contributing merely seven to eight per cent of the spending on health care, compared to 18 per cent on pharmaceuticals. The medical technology sector has the potential to touch $50 billion by 2025, if it gets ample government support and clarity, in terms of policy and regulation. Currently, India imports around 70 per cent of the medical devices used here.
Israel with very advanced and researched innovations in Health care sector seeks to cooperate and find meaningful Indian partners in medical devices segment. To promote Israeli Medical Device industry and Med In Israel 2015, Mr. Israel Makov along with Israeli Delegation visited New Delhi on Monday, 15th December, 2014.
Mr. Makov, Chairman of SUN Pharmaceutical Industries Limited – the world’s 5th largest specialty generic pharma company was heading the Israeli delegation along with the Chairman of BioLight – a company that invests, manages and commercializes biomedical innovations grouped into “clusters” around defined medical conditions, Chairman of Micromedic Technologies Ltd. – a cluster of companies engaged in cancer diagnostics and Chairman of Eltav – the pioneer and world leader in wireless monitoring of industrial valves.
Addressing Indian medical device companies and distributors in a round table meeting in New Delhi, Mr. Israel Makov introduced the new technological breakthroughs that Israeli Medical Devices industry offers along with the opportunities to collaborate and joint ventures. He invited leading medical companies to Med In Israel 2015 which is scheduled to happen on 23-26 March 2014 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Meeting some prominent hospitals and health care chains, the delegation also discussed the opportunities for introducing Israeli expertise as well as clinical trials in the Indian ecosystem.

I’m a Medical / Wellness / Rehabilitation Equipment supplier in Nigeria. Our market area extents to countries. Within the West African sub-region.
I’m keen about the outcome of this collaboration between Israel and India and would like to receive updates whenever possible.
We are a young healthcare technology venture incubated in Bangalore and focusing on affordable diagnostics. We would love to attend Med in Israel but have the usual constraints facing a young venture.
I have two questions:
1. Are there any financial incentives available that can help us attend Med in Israel 2015?
2. Does this forum enable and foster any collaborations or partnerships with Israeli companies at a similar stage of development?
Look forward to hearing from you.
