Israeli Companies at Apollo Corporate Office

The Israeli Economic & Trade Department at the Embassy of Israel in Delhi, along with the Israel Export Institute and 2 other Israeli Economic & Trade Departments in Bangalore and Mumbai, has organized a delegation of Israeli medical device companies to India during March 7 – 11, 2016.

The idea was to bring Indian stakeholders directly in line with some of the innovative technology companies from Israel with one to one interaction. The companies reached New Delhi, India on 6th March 2016 and welcomed by Mr. Barak Granot, the Economic Attaché, at the Israeli Embassy in India.

Ms. Angela W. Rabinovich, Director, Life Sciences Department, Israel Export Institute expressed the wish for the Israeli companies to meet officials of Apollo Hospitals, Fortis Group, Max Hospitals, Dr Lal Path Labs, SRL Diagnostics, Portea- HealthVista India.

These companies are associated with International Finance Corporation (IFC – World Bank Group) to introduce new medical technologies to India. The Tech Emerge Group is in the process of shortlisting Israeli companies to promote them in India.

The Israeli companies which visited India were First Care/ Waismed, GlucoMe Ltd., Vayyar Imaging Ltd.,  Circ Medtech Ltd., Witalize Ltd. (Beecardia),  MCS, Cnoga Medical, InSightec, Enzysurge, Equatel and Aerotel Medical Systems Ltd. The companies specialize in devices and technologies in Oncology, Diabetics, Cardiology, Ultrasound surgery, Remote Monitoring, Telemedicine etc.

Whereas InSightec, First Care/ Waismed, Aerotel, Cnoga, Enzysurge have their presence in India but wanted to explore more opportunities to promote their businesses. Other participants like MCS, Witalize Ltd., GlucoMe, Circ Medtech and Equatel expressed their wish to meet Indian Hospitals and appoint Distributors in India. Vayyar Imaging Ltd. is looking for Clinical Trial opportunities in India and wanted to meet Apollo, Fortis and Tata.

The companies showcased their devices and technologies to various prominent hospitals and explored opportunities to appoint distributors in New Delhi and Chennai.

On 7th March the Israeli companies visited several Hospitals and a prominent laboratory in New Delhi. Mr. Barak Granot, Trade Attaché lead the delegation along with Ms. Angela W. Rabinovich, Director, Life Sciences Department, Israel Export Institute. The first destination was Fortis Memorial Research Institute followed by Medanta Medicity Hospital, Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals and Oncquest Laboratories in New Delhi. Due to time constraints a visit to Army Hospital could not take place.

On all the destinations the Israeli companies showcased their devices and technologies to the officials and doctors to promote their Products/Technologies and explored various opportunities.  A dinner meeting was hosted for the Directors of Rockland Hospital Group where senior doctors from Rockland Hospitals interacted with Israeli companies. The dinner was also attended by some prominent doctors and officials from BLK Hospital and Venketeshwar Hospital.

Next day 8th March was scheduled for B2B meetings in Hotel Taj Palace. More than 140 scheduled and on the spot meetings took place with Hospitals, Indian Distributors and Importers of Medical Devices some among them were officials from Max Hospitals, Dr Lal Path Labs, SRL Diagnostics, GenX Diagnostics, Portea- HealthVista India, Skanray Technologies, Poly Medicure and Association of Healthcare Providers. In the evening the delegates proceeded to Chennai.

9th March was scheduled for hospital visits in Chennai. The Apollo Hospitals- Corporate office was the first destination. The Israeli companies showcased their devices/technologies through PPT to Mr. Subbiah Viswanathan, COO, Dr. R. K. Venkatasalam, and Joint Director-Medical Services along with more than 15 doctors from various departments. Ms Preetha Reddy, Executive Vice Chairman (Promoters of Apollo Group) also welcomed the Delegates.

Second destination was SIMS Hospital, Chennai. The Delegation was welcomed by Senior officials of SIMS Hospital. A sumptuous lunch was hosted for the delegates. After lunch all the delegates were separated as per their areas of specialization and escorted to various departments where they interacted with the head of departments and various doctors.  A dinner meeting was hosted for the officials of Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre where senior doctors from other Hospitals also interacted with Israeli companies.

Israeli Companies during B2B

On 10th March the B2B meetings were scheduled in Hotel Hyatt Regency, Chennai. More than 100 scheduled and on the spot meetings took place with Hospitals, Indian Distributors and Importers of Medical Devices some among them were HLL Lifecare Ltd., Uber Diagnostics, The Madras Medical Mission Hospital, Kauvery Hospital, Global Healthcity, Sarvada Healthcare, Jesai Healthcare, Cura Healthcare etc . In the evening the delegates proceeded to Mumbai to visit India Medical Fair 2016.

The overall reaction of Israeli companies regarding these interactions was excellent. They were able to meet the C – level management of hospitals which earlier they were not able to meet. The Israeli companies are being contacted by several Indian companies for distributorship opportunities. There are many leads to be followed by Israeli companies. The companies left for Israel in the morning of 12th March.
