This year 18 Israeli companies participated in CMEF 2016 being held during April 17-20, 2016 in Shanghai, China. The companies were Babysense, Cnoga, Elcam Medical, Estar Medical, Exalenz Bioscience, Flight Medical, IceCure Medical, IVT Medical, LevEl, Medisim Ltd., MediTouch, Persys Medical, Philips Israel, Shekel Scales, Sion Medical, STI Laser, Tevadaptor and Viasonix. The Israeli companies had a vast product range to offer in areas such as Diagnostics & Monitoring, Telemedicine, Medical Flow Control, OTC – Over the Counter, Regenerative Medicine, Ortho-Biologics, Minimally Invasive System , Wound Management, Drug Delivery, Disposable & Implantable, etc..
The companies were interested in meeting Distributors, Manufacturers, Investors and Strategic Partners.
Israel being a global technology research and development center, its strength in this sector stems from inter-disciplinary capabilities, which bring together medicine, clinical expertise, materials science, electronics, software expertise and engineering know-how. Israeli development centers of multinational companies have an annual turnover of billions of dollars.
The Indian Healthcare industry which comprises hospitals, medical infrastructure, medical devices, clinical trials, outsourcing, telemedicine, health insurance and medical equipment was estimated to $96 billion in 2013 and expected to reach US$ 280 billion by 2020, due to increase demand for specialized and quality healthcare facilities. The industry is rapidly developing and is being fueled by large investments from existing corporate hospital chains and new entrants backed by private equity investors. This growth will be driven by healthcare facilities, private-public projects, medical diagnostic and pathological laboratories, and the mediclaim health insurance sector.
From Indian perspective, Israeli Pavilion in CMEF 2016 attracted many Importers and distributors. Keeping in view the interests of Israeli companies around 14 meetings were scheduled with Indian Importers and Distributors through Global Event Scheduling portal of Foreign Trade Administration and around 102 on the spot meetings with new Indian companies. We were able to meet more than 50 new Indian companies which regularly visit CMEF in Shanghai.

The Indian companies assisted in scheduling the meetings and came to Israeli Pavilion were Bafna Healthcare, Diabetik Footcare and Uber Diagnostics.
While at the Israeli Pavilion we were able to get attention of around 50 new Indian companies which showed their interests in meeting Israeli companies. Some of them were SafePro Medical (Sterimed Group), Alpha Medical, Mex India, Amrit AG Health, Forus, Metro Surgicals, Yorco, RMD Medicaids, Calicut Surgicals, Andhra Surgicals, Anand Surgicals, Nector Life Sciences, Mark Life Sciences, APH Medicals, Medicus Devices etc.. The companies were interested in being the Importers and Distributors in India.
Overall Israeli companies were impressed with the meetings and are interested in exploring various opportunities with Indian counterparts. Flight Medical plans to visit New Delhi on May 2 and 3 and is scheduling their meetings with Indian Companies. Sion Medical, STI Laser, Tevadaptor, Viasonix and Cnoga are also interacting with Indian companies to appoint suitable distributors. SafePro Medical is in touch with Teva and Cnoga to be their distributor in India. APH Medical had contacted Lev El, Meditouch, Hi Sense to promote their products in India.
