On June 15, 2016 International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group offering lasting solutions for development, organized the first-of-its-kind Tech Emerge Health Innovation Summit (www.techemerge.org/techemergesummit) in New Delhi to ensure matchmaking between the Israeli technology companies with the corporations in the emerging markets. The event was jointly organized in association with Israeli Ministry of Economy & Industry and Finnish Ministry of Employment & the Economy.
The TechEmerge Health Innovation Summit proved as an exclusive C-Level event that brought together Senior executives of leading health systems in India with innovators from around the world. The two days event was filled with innovator demos, presentations from healthcare leaders and networking with startups. The private sector healthcare providers participating in this program ranged from multi-specialty hospital networks to specialty clinics and even lab networks. Healthcare providers have expressed an interest in technologies that service both urban and rural populations. More than 20 Indian healthcare providers attended the program: Apollo, Fortis, Max, Manipal, Columbia Asia, SRL, Aravind, Regency, Cygnus, Dr. Lal Pathlabs, NephroPlus, Portea, EyeQ, Narayana Hospitals, CARE, Cloudnine, Sir Ganga Ram, International Oncology, Lenskart and Vaatsalya.
The Israeli companies invited were Mobile ODT, eWave MD, Micromedic Technologies, DiACardio, Zebra Medical Vision, Equatel, SightDX and ReAbility Online. There were Live On-Stage technology demonstrations in which the participants had the chance to see demos of best-in-class innovative tech products, and hear from industry leaders. Several matchmaking meetings between Indian healthcare providers and health tech companies took place, which is expected to lead to several new commercial tie-ups.
