At the instance of Government of India, RBI was directed to review the arrangements for institutional credit for agriculture and rural development and felt the need for a new organisational device. It recommended the formation of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) W.E.F. 12 July 1982 by transferring the agricultural credit functions of RBI to NABARD with an initial capital of 100 crore. NABARD Consultancy Services (NABCONS), is a wholly owned subsidiary of NABARD providing consultancy in all areas connected with Agriculture and Rural Development and registered as Private Limited Company.
The Commercial Departments of Israel in Delhi and Bangalore are organizing with NABARD a visit to Israel during February 2017, of Senior to Middle level Agriculture officers of NABARD, NABCONS and different Banks, who are directly related to agriculture and are playing the role of development of agriculture and financing agriculture projects.
The objective of the visit is to give exposure to these officers about the development in various sectors of Agriculture and agri-technology in Israel, to enable the participants to guide the farmers in India and also for exploring financing projects involving these advanced technologies in India.
