The 4th MEDinISRAEL Conference and Exhibition – one of the more important Medical Devices and HealthCare IT events for business and healthcare professionals from around the globe happened between 6th March and 9th March 2017 in Tel Aviv convention centre. The Event was initiated and organized by The Israel Export Institute in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Industry, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with over 120 Hot Start Ups and Exhibitors who are actively engaged in a broad variety of medical applications.
The event was successful in showcasing exciting Israeli technologies such as wearable devices and mApps to gather data assets, and artificial intelligence to make sense of it , Sensitive data protection from the best in the world Israeli cyber community, and amazing on-site diagnostic tools, Virtual and augmented reality for training, treatment & rehabilitation, technologies to drive hospital efficiency and the power of multi-disciplinary advanced manufacturing solutions.
The event offered a unique blend of brilliant thinkers from every Hi-Tech sector, together with Venture Capital and Health Policy Makers who are re-imagining the future of medicine and healthier lifestyles.
Indian Delegation:
There were 45+ Registered Delegates from India. On the First day, 6th March a Gala Evening was organized at “Trask”, Tel Aviv Port for an Informal get together for all the visitors where they could have the feel of Israeli food and drinks.

March 7th and 8th were assigned for B2B and various Seminars on Personalized Medicine and Tailored HealthCare, Continuous HealthCare Implementation, Crossing Borders in Times of Emergency, Promoting Population Health Management, Participatory Medicine and Patient Empowerment, Israel Health and Medical Industry Panel, Turning Big Data into Action etc.
The 360° Health Innovation Competition: Driving a Meaningful Change Eight companies were nominated as pre-finalists and presented their technology by video in the Virtual Reality Arena on the MEDinISRAEL fair-ground. The three selected finalists were invited to give a brief presentation on stage for last round of judging for the 2nd and the 1st place winner. Mr. Seemant Jauhari, the CEO of Apollo Research and Innovations was one of the judges in the competition.

All the Indian companies were excited to explore the Innovative technologies and meet various Stakeholders. Most of the Companies have given positive feedback about their interaction with Israeli companies.
In the evening of 8th March the Indian delegation was addressed by Dr. Anju Kumar, Dy. Ambassador of Indian Embassy in Israel. The Indian companies were briefed about the Israeli work culture. The Indian companies briefed her about their areas of interests and purpose of visit. The discussion was about creating a mutually beneficial trade environment between both the countries.

After the interaction the Pears Program for Global Innovation organized Cocktail reception
“Indian Market Access Cocktail: Decoding the Indian Healthcare System” followed by Roundtables on various topics like Understanding India’s Private and Public Healthcare Systems (Dr. Gyani with Ministry of Health), Digital health: telemedicine, home care, point of care diagnostics. (Ms. Ishita with eHealth incubator and Mobile ODT), Current critical health challenges not being addressed (Mr. Joy with Teva), Procurement & Medical device distribution in India (Mr. Paul with Lemon Tree consulting (Oranit), Frameworks enabling India-Israel healthcare collaboration (Mr. Ajay (3M) with Innovation Authority). Several Israeli companies and Start-ups were invited to participate in these Roundtables. The discussions were focused on assisting Israeli companies to better understand the Indian healthcare system, raise their ability to identify opportunities and embark in collaborations.

On the Last day, 9th March the delegates explored Rambam HealthCare Campus, Rabin Medical Center, Assuta Medical Center as per their choices followed by Sightseeing Tours in Haifa & Nazareth and Jerusalem.
