Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi left Israel on this thursday afternoon after an historic three day visit to Israel. As a celebration of the 25-year anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties, Modi’s visit marks the first to Israel by an Indian head of government. Besides sit-downs with senior politicians and business leaders, here are the details of signed agreements during his packed itinerary.
During this groun breaking visit, Seven agreements were signed between India and Israel. The agreements involved cooperation in key sectors like space, agriculture and water conservation.
In the water sector, two agreements were signed to increase cooperation on water conservation and state water utility reform in India.
Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, and Israel’s Ministry of National Infrastructure, Energy and Water Resources signed the agreement on National Campaign for Water Conservation in India. The second one was signed between Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam and the Ministry of National Infrastructure, Energy and Water Resources on State Water Utility Reform in India.
In the agriculture sector, the two countries have agreed upon India-Israel Development Cooperation – a three-year work programme in agriculture from 2018 to 2020.
Agreement for cooperation between the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Israel Space Agency (ISA) regarding cooperation in Atomic Clocks. Besides, separate MoUs were signed between ISRO and ISA for cooperation in GEO-LEO optical link, and in Electric Propulsion for small satellites.
