Israel remains a leader in cyber security, constantly setting new standards as cyber-attacks are among the major threats faced by a nation in the 21st century. Israeli companies have been providing novel solutions which have enhanced the robustness, strength, and security of other nations and organizations in the world, making a global impact that is non-proportional to Israel’s material size.
The Israel Innovation Authority, the Israeli Ministry of Economy & Industry, and the National Cyber Directorate, have launched a dedicated program to strengthen Israel’s cyber industry at a scope of NIS 90 million (USD 24 million) over the next three years to brace the country’s cyber security industry as a global leader.
Under the three-year program companies dealing with high-risk research and development will be eligible to receive up to 5 million shekels a year. The program will also help fund pilot projects in Israel and abroad.
The program will ensure that Israel continues to meet the cyber sector’s biggest challenges, secure Israel at the forefront of innovation, and reinforce Israel’s global leadership in this critical industry.
This program expresses the government’s ongoing commitment to preserving and strengthening Israel’s global cyber leadership, one of the most significant engines of the hi-tech industry’s growth. The program is dedicated to addressing the cyber industry’s unique challenges, with an eye towards the future
Israel has about 5 percent of the global market share in cyber security, second to the United States, and 16 percent of worldwide investment in the cyber industry, according to government data.
A few established Israeli cyber companies have presence in India and cater to Indian companies in BFSI, IT, Telecom and other sectors.
