On October 4th 2018, the Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Govt. of India in collaboration with FICCI organized India Chem 2018 – The 10th Biennial International Exhibition and Conference. The event was held from October 4th – October 6th 2018 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. The event was also supported by the Indian Chemical Council (ICC), Mumbai which is the is the apex body in India representing all sectors of the industry such as Petroleum Refining and Petrochemicals, Fertilizers, Pesticides, Dyes, Pharmaceuticals, Paints, Inorganic and Organic Chemicals, Speciality Chemicals etc.
The ICC had organized a Conclave parallel to India Chem event on October 5th 2018 at the same venue. The theme of the Conclave was “Waste to Wealth in Chemical Industry: Collaborative Approach”. With regards to this, an Israeli company, Sutok Environmental Engineering was informed by the Mumbai trade office regarding the Conclave being organized by the ICC. Sutok practices consulting, design and management of environmental projects. The company has practical experience in wastewater treatment, licensing, project management and risk surveys.
Given the expertise of Sutok in the waste management sector, the ICC hosted and invited the CEO of Sutok, Mr. Maor Diminsky to visit Mumbai for the event. Mr. Maor presented a case study on industrial waste management at the event and was a part of the site visits to various chemical companies in Mumbai in order to understand the processes followed for waste management, locally.
Additionally, the Mumbai office also organized separate meetings and on-site visit for the visiting Israeli company.
