Israelische technologische innovaties die de energiesector veranderen

In de laatste week van juli 2016 heeft een van onze collega’s haar werkweek mogen voortzetten in Israel. In deze intensieve week is er samen gewerkt met de Newtech organisatie, het Israel Export Institute en het Ministerie van Economische Zaken om de Israelische bedrijven waar wij dagelijks mee werken in praktijk te ontmoeten en hier verder te discusieren over de cleantech sector.

Tijdens deze week werd de focus gelegd op de veranderingen in de energiesector en de effecten van de grote multinationals die zich in het energieveld begeven. Dit betekent dat huidige energiebedrijven zich steeds meer moeten richten op de ontwikkelingen binnen de IoT sector en in hoeverre dit invloed kan hebben op het huidige energiemodel. De bedrijven die zijn bezocht hebben het allemaal in zich om de energiemarkt te doen veranderen, is het op het gebied van windenergie, zonne-energie, energieopslag en energieverbruik. Deze veranderende energiemarkt doet veel stof opwaaien en brengt dus veel nieuwe spelers met zich mee zoals Google, Intel & IBM. De shift naar een meer online gebaseerde energiemarkt zorgt voor nieuwe technologische innovaties, waarvan veel van de bezochte Israelische bedrijven tijdens de werkweek een rol in spelen. Veel van deze startup bedrijven zijn ook aanwezig zijn op de Eilat-Eilot Conferentie a.s. 27-29 november in Eilateilat Deze conferentie zal een gesprek op gang brengen over de mogelijkheden binnen energieopslag, energieverbruik en het integreren van hernieuwbare energie op de grid. Daarnaast wordt er gesproken over diverse zonne-energie toepassingen, hoe de Smart City Eilat 70 procent op zonne-energie kan worden gerund en hoe zij van plan zijn om naar 100 procent hernieuwbare energie gaan.

Drones

Airobotics

Airobotics has developed an end-to-end autonomous system for 24/7 drone flight that uses a robotic arm to swap out flat batteries and get the aircraft back in the air. Drones are already making big waves in industries like agriculturewildlife protection and emergency services. And while some models can fly for longer than others, they all need to come down to recharge or refuel at some point. Designed for monitoring and surveying tasks at big facilities in industries like mining, oil and gas, the Airobotics system is designed to erase this little inconvenience from the autonomous drone equation.

Storage:

Brenmiller Energy developed an energy storage system and solar collectors. The storage system opens doors to numerous applications by enabling energy producers to have full control over dispatchability on any scale, day or night. This meaning that the system is very cost efficient. The first solar facility in Israel that is connected to the grid has adopted their technology, managing a reduction in cleaning cost of nearly $80,000 dollars a year.

TIGI

TIGI introduces the Honeycomb Collector, a new breed of solar-thermal (water heating) collectors that turns sunlight to heat. Our collector is unique in its ability to minimize energy losses to the environment, resulting in very high efficiency and economic value even in freezing winter conditions or for high temperature applications, where today’s high end collectors perform poorly.

Solight

Solight LTD is developing Solar Lighting systems, used to illuminate buildings during daytime. A cutting edge system, comprised of an Optimized Static Collector (OSC), a transport and distribution module and hybrid dispersion units – the first affordable and practical method of using natural full spectrum solar light for widespread interior daytime lighting.

Sunboost

SunBoost’s, patent protected, disruptive technology enables installation of PV systems on-top of greenhouses without compromising agriculture yields. This is achieved by using unique and innovative designed optical glass boosters. Boosters and PV panels are positioned to collect light when it is in excess and to allow the sun into the greenhouse when it is required for the crops. The system enables for the first time combining PV and greenhouse agriculture which in principle are competing for the same solar resource. PDP
