The DSTI (Science, Technology and Industry department) of the OECD has recently published a report that aims to provide the missing data on the drivers and characteristics of finance in the green sector. It is well known the startups play a crucial role in providing the necessary innovation to promote green growth. However, data on their financial needs and access to finance has been somewhat missing. The – Environmental Policies and Risk Finance in the Green Sector report covers 29 countries (including some of the OECD members and the BRIICS countries) in the time period of 2005-2010 and tries to identify the role policies play in generating investment growth in the green sector.
