On 2-4 October 2013
The Commercial Dept. of the Embassy of Israel in Switzerland
together with the Israeli Export Institute
invite you to participate in
Israel Innovation Day
at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland
The European Organization for Nuclear Research, known as CERN, is an international organization whose purpose is to operate the world’s largest particle physics laboratory (http://home.web.cern.ch/).
CERN’s main function is to provide the particle accelerators and other infrastructure needed for high-energy physics research. The main site in Geneva has a large computer center containing powerful data-processing facilities, primarily for experimental-data analysis.
The annual budget to operate CERN is above one billion Dollars, of which around 400 Million dollars are devoted to new procurement.
Israel became an associate member in 2011, with a process to become a full member by the end of 2013. As a full member, Israel will be able to compete in all the various tenders available in CERN.
On 2-4 October 2013, the Commercial Department of the Embassy of Israel in Switzerland and Mission of Israel to the UN and other International Organizations, together with the Export Institute, are organizing an Israel Innovation Day at the CERN premises.
We invite selected Israeli companies to participate in the event, which will bring them a unique opportunity to expose their technology and products to CERN researchers, scientists, and procurement officers.
Although CERN procurement covers various areas, main fields of interest include:
• IT software
• RF equipment
• Products and processes related to ceramics and titanium
• Products and materials related Semiconductor detectors
