Argentina has requested WTO dispute consultations with Peru concerning anti-dumping and countervailing duties imposed by Peru on imports of biodiesel from Argentina. The request was circulated to WTO members today.
Argentina is challenging six measures relating to the imposition by Peru of anti-dumping and countervailing duty measures on biodiesel originating from Argentina. Argentina claims the investigation and imposition of the measures at issue appear to be inconsistent with several provisions of the WTO’s Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures, the Anti-Dumping Agreement, Article VI of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade 1994, and Article XVI of the Marrakesh Agreement establishing the WTO.
