China requests consultations with US over compliance in countervailing duties dispute

Today, China notified the WTO that is requesting consultations with the United States over the United States’ alleged non-compliance with the recommendations and rulings of the Dispute Settlement Body in the dispute over countervailing duties on certain products from China (DS437). In the original dispute, the United States was found to have acted inconsistently with several obligations in the Subsidies and Countervailing Measures (SCM) Agreement relating to countervailing duty determinations with respect to methodologies pertaining to key SCM concepts.
