TNC October 30

Last Monday afternoon DG de Azevêdo hosted the second TNC meeting reporting on the progress of the negotiations leading to Bali’s MC9 on the three DDA Bali issues: Trade Facilitation (TF), Agriculture and Development/LDC issues.

He stated that work continued to be business-like, and the focus of discussions was four sessions on TF; a session on the Monitoring Mechanism and a session on the G-33 food security proposal. Also, consultations were held by Chairs in different settings to help efforts. The DG continued to be encouraged by the level of the engagement and the efforts being made to move our work forward, however, he stated that we are not moving fast enough and “things will need to change — and change quickly — if we are to achieve our objective of success in Bali”.
