Israeli Ingenuity Will Take Center Stage at CES 2019
For more than 50 years, the annual CES convention – formerly known as the Consumer Electronics Show – has been a showcase of all the latest innovations, devices and gadgets, and a mainstay of the calendar for tech industry executives, thought leaders, investors, and journalists.
As in past years, Israel’s presence will be strongly felt at the upcoming CES 2019 from Jan. 8-11, with some of the Startup Nation’s most cutting-edge companies showcasing their solutions for an estimated 182,000 attendees.
Held in Las Vegas every year since 1978, CES reliably garners global headlines as a forum for companies to announce product launches and new technologies in areas including autotech, wearables, mobile tech, TV and audio/video tech, AI, robotics, and AR/VR – domains in which Israeli innovation is widely acclaimed.
Companies from more than 40 countries will exhibit their solutions in these and other sectors at Eureka Park, where some of the most promising startups introduce their technologies to CES attendees, identify new partnership opportunities, and build connections with investors. The Israel Export Institute and the Foreign Trade Administration of Israel’s Ministry of Economy and Industry are once again behind Israel’s national pavilion at Eureka Park, which will showcase 22 cutting-edge Israeli companies. Here’s a sneak peek at some of this year’s featured companies:
- Brodmann17 is a Tier 2 software company developing deep learning computer vision technology for ADAS and autonomous driving. Founded in 2016, Brodmann17’s lean, patent-pending software architecture delivers state of the art accuracy while consuming only a fraction of computing power, opening up the world to the benefits of deep learning vision. The solution is built from the ground up and designed against the industry’s toughest standards for the world’s largest OEMs and Tier 1 automotive suppliers.
- AR startup Edgybees is a leader in real-time collaborative visual intelligence technology, providing critical software that enables the most accurate virtual world of any complex environment. Targeting users in the public safety, emergency response, automotive, and broadcasting sectors, Edgybees harnesses its Collaborative Visual Intelligence Technology™ to generate overlays that provide full visibility and situational awareness in fast-moving situations. Responders have used the company’s technology to enhance the effectiveness of disaster response during wildfires in Northern California and hurricane flooding in Florida, and broadcasters have tapped its innovative technology to give golf telecasts an AR upgrade.
- Lumen, a personalized nutrition device and app, measures users’ metabolism by analyzing their breath. Using carbon dioxide sensors and flow meters, Lumen measures the breakdown of fat, carbohydrate, and protein while food is being metabolized and determines each user’s metabolic rate. Based on the user’s metabolism, the app provides customized insights and nutrition advice to help users optimize their diets and adhere to healthy lifestyles.
- Utilizing AI technology, Hexa helps users in the fashion, furniture, and consumer electronics sectors create 3D content through the conversion of existing 2D images, which are transformed into VR, AR, and 3Dweb-compatible assets. The company’s customers include leading global brands, such as Ikea, Meta, Li & Fung, and Bouclair.
With CES attendees and tech observers the world over eagerly awaiting the event’s closely-watched keynotes and product announcements, the eyes of the tech world will once again be trained on Las Vegas, with Israeli ingenuity in the limelight.
