At the beginning of November, ten senior executives from the UK’s top advertising and Media agencies visited Israel in search of technologies that will help to further improve brand awareness and consumer engagement. Amongst them were senior representatives of MediaCom, BBH, Manning Gottlieb OMD, AMV BBDO, Group M, MEC, Unreal and others.
The delegation was jointly organised by the Trade and Economic Office at the Embassy of Israel in London, the UK-Israel Tech Hub at the British Embassy in Israel and the Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute, as part of the on-going initiative to boost strategic technology partnerships between the UK and the State of Israel.
The visit showcased an array of cutting-edge Israeli innovations from various companies, all according to the specific requirements of the delegates.
The programme for this four-day visit included a ‘companies pitching session’ to the delegation, conducted in speed-dating style meetings at the residence of the British Ambassador. Dozens more companies also met with the delegates throughout the programme, one-to-one, in private sessions at the Israel Export Institute.
Other highlights included a tour of Silicon Boulevard, visits to leading tech incubators such as JVP Media Labs and The Time, a case-study meeting with MyThings and an open networking event at Google Campus, Tel Aviv, which hosted approximately 120 Israeli entrepreneurs and investors.
Idan Ben Yaacov of the Embassy of Israel’s Trade and Economic Office noted that “the success of this delegation visit was down to a true and vibrant partnership between organisers, each using their individual strengths towards one purpose, and also to the group of open-minded executives who participated, each of whom were keen to engage with innovation and out-of-the-box thinking”.
The existence of on-going dialogue between some of the participating agencies and Israeli AdTech companies is testament to the success of the visit and also the level of creativity exposed during the programme.
