A high level delegation of executives from Sky UK from their Sky Ventures and the Technology Integration divisions made their third trip to Israel in as many years this February.

Sky remains the biggest paid-TV broadcaster with over 11 million customers in the UK and have recently launched their new Sky Q TV platform and invested heavily in their OTT platform, Now TV, in order to take on the likes of Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Sky is constantly striving for innovation to stay ahead or catch-up with their TV and VOD competitors and that’s why they place such an importance on tapping into the Israeli digital ecosystem. This 3-day technology delegation included visits to notable VCs, B2B meetings with selected start-ups and cultural visits around Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Sky selected several AI and cyber security companies of particular interest this time around. We wish the Israeli companies success in their impending POCs with Sky and we will give more specific information about deals and partnerships when they have been signed and published.

This constant interest from Sky UK in the Israel tech ecosystem is great news, we hope that even during this turbulent time for Sky, it does not hinder or delay any technological adoption that they saw whilst in Israel.
