BT to axe 13,000 jobs over next three years

BT is set to axe around 13,000 jobs, most of which will be back office and middle management roles, in a bid to cut costs, the company has confirmed. The telecoms giant made the announcement as part of a strategy update, where it also detailed plans to leave BT’s headquarters in central London.

It said the job cuts would take place over three years. The company is hoping to cut costs by around £1.5 billion by the third year of its revamped strategic plan.
