Israeli “Nanodrops” could soon be replacing glasses

In March 2018, Bar Ilan University in partnership with Shaare Zedek Medical Center, announced that researchers have started to investigate the possibility of a new eyedrop solution which could revolutionize the optical industry.

The two entities are still in the process of working with investors in order to raise $1 million to fund the R&D of the project.

So far the initial solution has been tested in animal trials and has shown to be very effective in correcting sight issues such as presbyopia and myopia.

Human trials will begin in 2020 and in the same year the product is expected to enter the market.
