The Threat of Ransomware is ever present, and the consensus from Business leaders is that it is not a matter of “if” but “when” an attack will strike.  It’s also shocking to hear that the majority would potentially find it easier to negotiate and pay the ransom, as the recovery process, if indeed possible has been notoriously time consuming and costly. Marry this with the ever-looming jury by social media, and its no wonder organizations take this view.

There is an alternative to this thought process. Infinidat and Commvault have partnered to provide an industry leading data protection capability, that will allow customers to Assess, Prepare, Detect, and Recover from a zero trust immutable data store.  This is complementary and supportive of any Cyber security capability already deployed.

As forewarned is forearmed Infinidat and Commvault are running a Ransomware event in London on December 2nd from 14.00 – 17.00, with the option to network with like-minded individuals after the event with drinks and canapés.

The aim of the event is to help organizations to better protect themselves from cyber criminals. Three short talks from three great subject matter experts, Tom Lee of the Metropolitan Police Cybercrime Unit, Roger Lane, Data governance subject matter expert and Guy Kariv EMEA CTO , will be presenting at this live event in London.

The presentations will cover Preparation, Protection, Detection and Recovery and will be followed by a panel-led, room-wide Q&A, allowing invited guests to interact with the speakers, ask questions and gain deeper insights into some of the more subtle and nuanced aspects of cybercrime, such as Ransomware-as-a-Service and criminals offering discounts for prompt payment.

What will be covered?

Prevention through preparation

The starting point for protecting yourself against cybercrime is preparation. This talk will cover the steps to take to protect your business from a ransomware attack, not just putting technology in place, but training staff, contractors, suppliers, and customers to be more vigilant and aware of the dangers.

Protection & Detection

It might already be too late to fully protect yourself, so what do you do if you spot anything unusual that might be linked to a data breach? You will learn how to find out what might be happening, who to tell and what to expect once it is confirmed that you have been hacked and data has been compromised.

If all else fails, and recovery is the last course of action, Infinidat and Commvault have the answers to meet customers’ expectations providing a no compromise lightening quick recovery from a protected, immutable, and verified copy of an organizations most important asset its data.
