Israel’s Technion and Cornell University to create state of the art technology campus in New York City

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has announced the building of a technology university campus in the city. The renowned Israel Institute of Technology (Technion) and Cornell University submitted their proposal to lead the campus and were selected due to the impressive track record of these institutions in science and business, and for the vision of their plan.The campus will offer advanced degrees in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Information Science and Engineering. New York City will invest $100M in the construction, which is set to begin in 2015, on two million square-feet on Roosevelt Island in the East River.

The campus will be one of the most environmentally friendly and energy efficient campuses in the world.
