The Israeli Energy Minister, Dr. Yuval Steinitz, hosted in Houston a meeting with the Energy Ministers of Egypt, Cyprus and Greece, including the Under Secretary of the Department of Energy and the Assistant Secretary of the State Department.
Minister Steinitz opened the event by saying that thanks to the many meetings of the Energy Ministers in the past year, the cooperation between the countries has grown stronger. The next project to work on together is the East Med pipeline which is in the better interest of all present countries, while diversifying of energy sources of Europe.
The Egyptian Minister, Tarek El-Molla said he is happy for the additional meeting (the second meeting between the two ministers in the last few weeks). These are the days when 40 years to the peace treaty between Egypt and Israel are being celebrated and it is time that the countries will enjoy the fruits of peace.
After the meeting, the Four Energy Ministers spoke at a panel at Ceraweek conference on Eastern Mediterranean Gas Renaissance.
