This past February 24-27, two major Israeli delegations were stealing the spotlights at shows on opposite sides of the world.
Mobile World Congress (MWC), a global mobile technology and telecom conference taking place every year in Barcelona, was once again a premier venue for showcasing Israeli technology. And just as in past, the Israeli delegation was the biggest single national pavilion at the event, with over 120 companies represented. Topping last year’s records, Israel Economic Missions and their partners around the world organized and recorded more than 3,000 meetings for these companies with mobile technology firms from every corner of the globe. Our record breaking delegation once again attracted phenomenal interest from both the innovative entrepreneurs and global telecom giants from around the world.
While Israeli companies in Spain were meeting with innovators about breaking down walls and making connections, several dozen more Israeli companies were generating their own buzz at the annual RSA security show in San Francisco. This year, on February 25th, the Israel Economic Mission to the West Coast helped organize an “Israeli Cybersecurity Showcase” satellite event featuring 23 Israeli companies. The agenda featured blue-chip speakers from both the public and private sector, including PayPal, EMC, the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office and the City of San Francisco.
The showcase also hosted dozens of one-on-one meetings between Israeli companies and representatives of leading financial, IT and technology firms. And back at the main RSA show, Israeli cybersecurity firms continued to generate interest and took home top honors from attendees and organizers.
