Israeli Retailtech delegation grabs attention on Madison Avenue and beyond (wrap-up)

In July 19 and 20, under the direction of our own Anna Osipov, a delegation of 13 Israeli startups with technology solutions for the retail industry visited New York and New Jersey after spending two days in the Chicago area. The Israeltechs represented solutions in data analytics, payment solutions and AI for retail, e-commerce and brands.


On July 19, the delegation was invited to present their solutions to the innovation and strategy team at Publicis, a global ad agency in NYC. About a dozen representatives from across the Publicis family gathered to hear pitches and meet the Israeli delegation, as they scouted disruptive technologies on behalf of their clients. Around 70% of ublicis clients are in the retail and branding spaces.

Following the morning at Publicis, the Israeli delegation headed to 30 Rockefeller Plaza, where they were hosted by Deloitte for an afternoon of B2B meetings and speed dating. The Israeli companies got to meet the innovation and digital teams from leading brands and retailers from around the country . The delegation enjoyed one-on-one 20-minute meetings with companies such as Steve Madden, Ralph Lauren, Hearst, Elie Tahari, Century 21, Nielsen, QVC, B&H and Lowe’s.
As the meetings wrapped up around happy-hour, Landmark Ventures and Deloitte hosted a VIP-networking reception for investors, professionals and entrepreneurs. Inon Elroy, Israel’s Economic Minister to North America gave remarks, and Landmark’s Zeev Klein interviewed Israeli/American basketball owner and sports entrepreneur Amare Stoudamire. Super Bowl Champion and Startup Founder Justin Tuck also stopped by to show off his rings and network.


On July 20th, the Israeli delegation headed out to Bed Bath and Beyond HQ in New Jersey for an Israeli Technology DemoDay. BBB’s digital and innovation team joined us for Q&A, feedback, and networking with the Israeli companies.

Early feedback about the event is positive. The Israeli companies were very pleased, and felt that while in New York and New Jersey, they were exposed to a wide array of important strategic partners and retailers. Comments pointed to the quality and professionalism of the itinerary, and many of the Israeli companies have already scheduled follow-up meetings with the contacts they made here.
