On December 2nd, 2015 in Austin TX at the LBJ School for Public Affairs at the University of Texas, the Jewish National Fund and Israel NewTech hosted one of 12 Water Summits across the United States. The event featured a keynote presentation by Seth M. Siegel, author of book “Let There Be Water: Israel’s Solution for a Water-Starved World,” as well as a panel of experts in water.
The Water Summits offer opportunities to learn about Israel’s leading technological advances and accomplishments in water resources, as well as important water and environmental challenges in Texas.
The Austin Summit featured an interactive panel with Professor Joseph Paritzky (Visiting Professor at University of Texas, former Minister of Infrastructure and Energy in Israel), Craig Pedersen (Former Executive Administrator of the Texas Water Development Board, former Vice President for Water and Wastewater in Texas for the URS Corporation), Professor David Eaton (Bess Harris Jones Centennial Professor in Natural Resource Policy Studies at the University of Texas), and Russel Robinson (CEO of JNF).
The discussion centered on “Water Operations in a World of Increased Demand and Climate Uncertainty” Participants learned about global water issues and Israel’s successes in water technology from keynote speaker and moderator Seth M. Siegel, author of Let There Be Water: Israel’s Solution for a Water-Starved World. They also participated in an interactive panel on both Israeli and local water technology and solutions.
