‘Must Attend’ Webinar for Israeli Exporters to the U.S. and for U.S. Importers from Israel!!

Israel’s Foreign Trade Administration and its Economic & Trade Affairs Mission in Washington, D.C., in partnership with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), are pleased to invite you to a webinar covering the U.S.-Israel Free Trade Agreement rules of origin and CBP’s origin verification process.

Date: October 19, 2020

Time: 15:00 (Israel)

Platform: Zoom

Presenters: TBA – various CBP officials

The U.S.-Israel Free Trade Agreement from 1985 provides goods of Israeli origin with duty-free access to the U.S. market. In order to obtain these benefits, goods must meet the rules of origin requirements established in the agreement.

CBP is entitled to verify the origin of products imported into the United States. When an importer claims preferential tariff treatment under the U.S.-Israel Free Trade Agreement (FTA), CBP is entitled to verify whether or not the product in question meets the rules of origin requirements established under the FTA. During this webinar, CBP officials will:

  • provide an overview of the FTA’s rules of origin; and
  • describe the process by which the agency conductsorigin verifications and what is required of Israeli companies in order to comply with CBP requests.

There will be a Q&A session at the end of the webinar. You are welcome to submit questions in advance to: jack.herron@israeltrade.gov.il
